Covered Bridge

Telliquah Covered Bridge

The Telliquah Covered Bridge is the crowning signature of Telliquah. The bridge symbolizes the historical span from the days when Telliquah was a sanctuary for the Cherokees, a gathering place where differences were set aside or settled peaceably. As time passed, all that was needed to return to Telliquah was a bridge between the past and the future. Now that bridge has been built and it will carry you back to a place of abundant natural beauty where time is still measured in seasons not seconds. In its union of concrete, steel and wood - traditional and modern - it symbolizes the very essence of Telliquah. This is a bridge between the storied past and the promising future of this truly special place.

Stretching 220 feet across the Tellico River, it is believed to be the largest privately-owned covered bridge in Tennessee, and possibly in the United States.
